When Breath Becomes Air
We all know that TV or movie doctor that’s a total a**hole – breaking the bad news like it’s no big deal. Unfortunately we know way too many real doctors like this too😰
But this one was built different..
This gifted neurosurgeon, Paul Kalanithi, knew the responsibility he had in guiding families through the toughest moments of their lives with care and empathy.
But after committing his life to the practice and philosophy of neurosurgery, he himself was diagnosed with lung cancer at 36.
When Breath Becomes Air resonated with me because of Kalanthi\’s strength in the face of illness, doubt, disappointment and helplessness.
Every decision he made after his diagnosis reflected his deepest values. And his honest questions and reflections on the meanings of life and death really made me wonder what makes it all worth it for me.
If you’re ready for that kind of soul searching while connecting with another remarkable person’s story, then this is definitely one to consider!
NGL though I thought I was ready but I wasn’t👀😂 If you’ve read the book, what did you think of it??
Also there’s nothing better than getting a mind-blowing🤯 book recommendation from a friend. Thanks again to @jimmywutron for putting us onto this one!!🙏🏽🙏🏽
