Sister Outsider by Audre Lorde

The year’s not over yet but I already know these are my favorites: Sassafras, Cypress and Indigo, Sula, Sister Outsider, and The Salt Eaters.

Once I began to read each of these books were moments I\’ll never forget.

I\’ve read Sister Outsider over and over and always discover something new, not only about Audre Lorde\’s writing and ideas, but also myself. I carry this collection of essays with me almost everywhere I go. Audre Lorde was one of the first writers I truly resonated with and essays like “The Transformation of Silence into Action” and “The Uses of the Erotic” have become life lessons for me.
