Anna Julia Cooper laid the foundation for Black Feminism with her 1892 book A Voice From the South.

Cooper practiced what she preached for her entire 105-year life. Her commitment to education and activism speaks volumes about her generosity, creativity and insight.

It was amazing to read her philosophy and see how so many leaders like Angela Davis, Kimberlé Crenshaw, Audre Lorde and Mikki Kendall follow in her footsteps.
